Software & Automation
Buy software outright with its codebase, users and recurring revenue, or buy a perpetual license or subscription seat to use it. The access model is shown on every listing and is a filter, because it changes what you are evaluating: business metrics and code quality for acquisitions, entitlement terms and limits for licenses and seats. The Node Passport records which revenue and usage figures were verified.

Buyer guide
- For acquisitions, weigh verified MRR, churn and active users over feature lists.
- Ask what transfers: source code, hosting accounts, domains, third-party API keys and customer contracts.
- For licenses and seats, confirm what the entitlement grants, for how long, and whether it is transferable under the vendor's terms.
- Check integrations with the traffic sources, networks and tools already in your stack.
- Review data handling: where user data lives and what privacy obligations transfer with it.

FAQ
What is the difference between full ownership, a perpetual license and a seat?
Full ownership transfers the software business itself, usually with code, hosting and customers. A perpetual license grants indefinite use of a specific version, and a subscription seat grants access for a paid period.
How are SaaS revenue figures checked?
Sellers can connect or document revenue and usage sources for verification. Figures that are not verified are labeled self-reported in the Node Passport and capped in the Node Score.
Can any SaaS subscription be resold as a seat?
Only where the vendor's terms allow it. Seat listings should state the vendor, plan and transfer mechanism, and buyers should confirm the arrangement complies with those terms.
