Don't build a Workflow from zero.
A Template is a reusable Workflow or Stack blueprint you can start from instead of composing steps one at a time — official starter Templates cover common operating patterns, and you can save your own from anything you've already built.
Blueprint to running Workflow
From blueprint to running Workflow
A Template is a blueprint, not the Workflow itself — duplicating one never runs anything until you attach real Nodes and choose to run it.
A blueprint, not the Workflow itself
Duplicating a Template never runs anything — it creates a private draft Workflow in your account, with the same step sequence the Template defines but no Nodes attached yet. You configure it against your own real Nodes before anything executes, the same as building a Workflow from zero, just starting from a known-good shape instead of a blank sequence.
Official starters, or your own
Official starter Templates are seeded and versioned, covering common operating patterns. But the directory isn't limited to those: any Stack or Workflow you've already built can be saved as your own reusable Template, so a shape you've proven once becomes your own starting point for the next one.
No fabricated popularity
The public Templates directory shows real, seeded content with no install or usage counters attached — this build doesn't track that yet, so it doesn't invent a number to make a Template look more or less used than it is.
Capabilities
What this is backed by: /templates (public directory) + /account/templates (yours); seeded via scripts/seed-starter-templates.mjs.
